Reclaiming Yarn workshop | September 7 2025

Calling all yarn addicts! Join the upcoming Reclaiming Yarn workshop to learn how to gently take apart, unravel, and re-use yarn from commercially knit sweaters. We'll go over how to evaluate sweaters for unraveling, how to separate sweaters into pieces with minimal cuts to yarn, and troubleshoot some common mistakes. 

I will provide all supplies. Each attendee of this class will receive one thrifted CASHMERE sweater to unravel and keep for their own further use.

What can you do with yarn you reclaim in this manner? Knit, crochet, weave, embroider, create visible or invisible mending on other sweaters! Keep in mind that most commercially knit sweaters are made with lace weight yarn, so reclaimed yarn is best held double or triple with itself or other yarns.
